Azazel is the grandson of Enll.  He is the twin brother of Astaroth.  Both he and his twin sister Astaroth are the children of Enlil's son "Sin/Nannar" and Sin's wife " Ningal."  Both Azazel and Astaroth have always been very close.

Azazel is a warrior God of justice and truth.  He is the God of justice and revenge.  He is a master of the Black Arts and the protector of travelers.  His symbol is the faravahar which represents freedom of choice and protection.

He was the leader of the Igigi.  Azazel is also the God of Divination.  He was the Chief Deity of the city of Hathra. As the Chief Deity of Hathra, he was known as "Shamiya".
Along side Enlil, he helped control the airways for the Gods.
The Judeo/Christian bible says that "Azazel taught men to make swords, knives and body armour"  The grimoires of spirit abuse claim that Azazel is a genius at working with metals, mineralogy, and geology.  This is symbolic.  He is a master at working with spiritual alchemy and works with dedicated Satanist to help them achieve godhead.

High Priest Shadderfer describes Azazel to be a little under 6 ft tall, skinny, short blond hair, very fair face and a cheerful person to those he is close to, he is serious and strong and helpful.

His sigil is as follows:
