Conspiracy Theories: The Fear of the Unknown as an Independent Thought form

By: Schwartzritter

When one spends any length of time in the occult, it is inevitable to run into a person or group who is a subscriber to one or many beliefs that involve one major organization or faction engaging in malevolent, clandestine activity with the intent to accomplish some selfish end. These are commonly referred to as “conspiracy theories” and their adherents “conspiracy theorists”. The greatest problem an Aquarian will encounter when dealing with these people is that the relatively apathetic, corrupt and mercenary nature of common society makes many of these theories very plausible, if not believable. However, one of the Aquarian’s greatest tools must be utilized when dealing with conspiracy theories: critical judgment.

Aquarians must use their critical judgment when analyzing these theories. Most conspiracy theories paint a picture of some “doomsday” scenario if the “evil faction” is allowed to succeed. While it is natural and healthy to question many of the power brokers of society, there is a difference between critical analysis and succumbing to fear. Many of the conspiracy theories play upon the fears of a specific society. These fears feed upon themselves and spread like a disease amongst people who are easily influenced.

There are some key traits associated with a typical conspiracy theory. These include the faction involved, the fear element, the “doomsday scenario” and the “source” for the information. The word “source” is enclosed in quotes to differentiate it from a standard source. A source in a conspiracy theory is usually a self-admitted insider of questionable and/or unverifiable authenticity. The next element is the subject faction. There is always some large faction of sizable political, financial or religious that is at the root of a conspiracy theory. These organizations usually have a reputation for being selfish and apathetic towards society that is not under their influence. The general misanthropy of the organization gives credence to the conspiracy theorists’ proposition of a possible scheme.

The next element is the exploitation of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of dystopia and fear of slavery all create independent thought forms that allow the conspiracy theory to take a life of its own. The negative consequences of a theory are always something that the common person will not want. Supporting the fear element is the fact that the common man has no reliable method of confirming the allegation beyond the “expert” provided by the theorist. The common person is compelled to dismiss the theory entirely or subscribe to the theory on faith alone. Relying wholly on faith is a flawless set up for propaganda distribution.

The last major piece of the conspiracy theory is the “doomsday scenario”. The allegation is always an extreme scenario that topples governments or does mass social damage at once. These extreme scenarios flawlessly generate fear as no one would want such scenarios to succeed. If the organization purported to be behind the conspiracy is known for dubious activities, the “doomsday scenario” seems more plausible and generates more fear. A secondary aspect is that the organization has either already won or is one step away from winning. This ensures panic will set in and people rush to remove themselves from a “doomed” society.

It is surprisingly easy to avoid getting caught up in conspiracy theories. All one must do is seek empirical and unbiased evidence. If it cannot be presented, the theory must be dismissed. Most people do not have the resources available to accurately verify the veracity of a conspiracy claim. Conspiracy theories are a waste of time and only serve to spread fear in the populace. They should be disregarded by any true intellectual as bunk. All people on the Aquarian path should empirically judge all allegations made by people to avoid being deceived by those who only serve selfish interests.
